Thanks to our partner realities.io, it's now possible to travel the world for free without leaving the comfort of your living-room! The Realities application is released today on Steam for the lucky ones who have received their headsets.

We have showcased the demo at our booth at GDC last month and most of the users have been amazed by the experience. It was a pleasure to welcome so many of you there.

Granite 2.4 Released

We’re proud to announce the release of the latest 2.4 version of our Granite SDK. The main improvements are the following:

  • significantly improved performance (streaming throughput) for HDR color data (16 bit float),

  • significant reduction of memory usage when using many complex materials,

  • support for procedurally created texture tiles at run-time,

  • support for 90 FPS rendering for Virtual Reality headsets,

  • support for the UDIM texture tile format.

Digital Media and ICT are at the core of iMinds research. At iMinds they’re experimenting with technologies that are applied and evaluated in many application fields (think gaming, media production, immersive environments…) that have the potential to revolutionize the way we experience and interact with imagery. This is why visualization is such a big part of their upcoming conference. Because of our experience in that field, we’ve been asked to host a talk at iMinds The Conference on October 23rd.
